Facebook is automatically converting all brand pages to the Timeline format on MARCH 30, 2012. Overall look and feel of brand pages has been completely revamped. The most easily recognizable feature is the new cover photo and profile picture feature. Larger format presents the opportunity for much more compelling creative.
THE COVER PHOTO
Please note the rules for the Cover Photo, per Facebook’s Regulations:
Cover Photos may not include:
price or purchase information, such as “40% off” or “Download it on socialmusic.com”
contact information such as a website address, email, mailing address, or information that should go in your Page’s “About” section
references to Facebook features or actions, such as “Like” or “Share” or an arrow pointing from the cover photo to any of these features
calls to action, such as “Get it now” or “Tell your friends.”
TABS ARE NOW FEATURED APPS
The photos tab will always appear first, the next 3 spaces for featured apps are customizable. You can change the thumbnail image that shows for the app, except in the case of the “Photos” thumbnail or thumbnails for default Facebook features such as “Events”. For any additonal tabs we create for you such as a newsletter subscriptions, competition or any other tabs, we can customise what thumbnail appears there.
TABS ARE NOW WIDER
Fangatetabs will no longer be possible on the new Timeline format for pages, but all other tabs will be possible in a wider version than what is currently possible, meaning that tabs can encompass greater detail and more imagery. Tabs were 520 pixels wide, and will now be 810 pixels wide.
